Dr. Boyce’s Journey

My journey into trauma therapy started during my adolescence when I had a transformative experience supporting a trauma survivor. This was a defining moment in my life when I encountered the power of choice, an anchoring pillar that has shaped my career and personal philosophy on trauma recovery and relational healing.

Although I was able to offer immediate support, I often wondered how the survivor would navigate the days, weeks, and months ahead. That experience deepened my understanding of how trauma shapes individuals, families, and communities, and it continues to guide how I approach healing and offer support.

Growing up in a culturally rich Panamanian household in Brooklyn, New York, I was surrounded by deep-rooted traditions, resilience, and warmth. The fusion of my heritage with the vibrant energy of the city shaped a worldview grounded in empathy, cultural awareness, and meaningful connection. This multicultural lens continues to inform how I connect with people from all walks of life.

Influenced by these early experiences, I pursued studies in psychology, which led me to social work and its grounding framework of person-in-environment. During this time, I received formal training in trauma therapy alongside complementary healing modalities.

My work is driven by a deep desire to understand the complex realities my clients face and uncover the root causes behind the challenges affecting their emotional and relational health. Through research, practice, and lived experiences, I observed how trauma creates interconnected patterns that affect emotional regulation, relationships, and overall functioning.

Recovery is not a singular event but rather a lifelong process woven into our transitions. Whether adjusting to a new job, navigating family dynamics, managing major milestones, or facing broader societal stressors, healing requires intention, effort, and resilience.

Guided by a holistic philosophy, I’ve spent years serving as an educator, therapist, and social entrepreneur. From designing innovative behavioral health programs to leading transformative workshops and inspirational talks, I focus on helping individuals and communities build sustainable emotional and relational change.

This work integrates the principles of social work with holistic healing to encourage individuals to embrace their humanity and actively pursue personal growth. The mission is to integrate mental wellness into everyday life, fostering genuine connection and emotional resilience.

This journey has affirmed that healing begins with safety, compassion, and choice, and I am here to support those who are ready to take the first step.
